Georgian 18th Century Panelled Oak Mule Chest,with 3 Drawers

A large Georgian panelled oak mule chest, blanket box or coffer, dated circa 1770. The coffer is made from oak, which has a great colour and grain patination on it. The coffer has a large cover or lid, which has a moulded rim. The front of the mule chest has seven panels fitted into it. The panels are plain with moulded edges. The base of the trunk is set with three drawers. The whole trunk is raised on square supports. It has dowelled fixings holding it together and drawers made using dovetail joints. Has a great patina, obviously 250 or so years old so will have wear and ancient signs of woodworm that has been treated.
