Antique Scottish Column / Kilmarnock Chest of Drawers – Circa 1870

This is a stunning antique Scottish column / Kilmarnock chest of drawers, manufactured circa 1870.   This beautiful piece has large, tall proportions with lots of drawer space. Antique Scottish Chest of Drawers are impressive, certainly a statement piece with a wonderfully figured front, displaying quality and beauty in abundance.   The main body of this quality chest contains unusual graduating drawer configuration, having a concealed cushion drawer and a deep shaped centre hat drawer, designed to fit a top hat in. It has the original turned handles and are fronted by the most delightfully figured flamed Mahogany. They are framed elegantly with turned columns and stand robustly on chunky turned bun feet.   This piece has Mother of Pearl inlaid on the turned handles as a centre piece. This substantial Antique Scottish Chest of Drawers are ash lined so is a very heavy piece of antique furniture and built to last. There is some damage to the veneer on the sides as can be expected with a piece from this period. This is a classic example of a Scottish chest of drawers from this period. Approximate dimensions: W117cm D55cm H135cm Delivery is available.
